The Arkansas Supreme Court declined to issue a stay of Circuit Judge Piazza's ruling declaring Arkansas's ban on gay marriage unconstitutional.
Effectively, this means that the issuing of marriage licenses in the state can continue. Arkansas is the only state in the south where gay marriages have been declared legal.
No word has been received concerning whether or not Phillips County Clerk Linda White will begin issuing licenses to same-sex couples in accordance with this ruling on marriage equality.
