The game was tight throughout the first half, with the Cougar Cats holding a 12-9 lead at the end of the first quarter. Central increased its lead to five points by the intermission at 23-18.
The third quarter belonged to the Cougar Cats as they managed to push the lead to double digits when Tyrin Vincent hit a basket at the buzzer to end the third quarter and give Central a 38-27 lead going into the final stanza.
Central scored the first four points of the fourth quarter to push the lead to 15 points at 42-27. Forrest City then went on a 10-0 run and when the Mustangs' Lamontee Randall scored with 2:09 remaining in the game, the lead was down to 42-37. The teams traded baskets until Randall when 1-2 from the free throw line, got his own rebound and scored to cut the lead to 44-42 with 52 seconds remaining.
Forrest City started fouling and Harvey went 4-4 from the line and Aswad Allen put the exclamation point on the win with eight seconds to go to make the final 50-44.

In Jr. Girls action, Kevonshaye Stackhouse scored 32 points on the way to a 44-28 win over the Lady Jr. Mustangs. Central led from start to finish.
