Barton fell behind 7-0 in the opening minutes, but used a 12-2 run to close out the first quarter with a three point lead after the first stanza. That would be the Cubs' only highlight. Marquis Eaton opened up the second quarter with seven points to spark an 18-0 second quarter as Barton literally couldn't find the basket. The Cubs would ultimately go 8:09 without a point before Mason Hunter's free throw broke the drought with 3:51 to go in the third quarter, which ended a 24-0 run and left the Cats ahead 33-13.
Barton would add only four more free throws the rest of the game. Marquis Eaton led the Cats with 12 points, followed by Keyonta Herred with 11 points. Barton was led by Kadarrius Davis who had 11 of Barton's 17 total points.
The Lady Cats held Barton scoreless in the 4th quarter as they cruised to a 50-10 victory. Kevonshaye Stackhouse led the way for Central with 35 points. Central also won the 8th grade boys game by a score fo 44-27.
