Central 7th Grade Wins Pair Against Barton

In 7th grade action, the Central Jr. High Cats defeated Barton 36-30.  The game was tight through out with Helena-West Helena leading 4-2 at the end of the first quarter.  The two teams were knotted 13-13 at the half.  Central pulled away in the 4th quarter for the victory.  Nicholas White led the way for Helena-West Helena with 14 points.  Joe Eaton had seven points.  Keyon Burrell led the way for Barton with 9 points.  Wayan Wilkins added 8.

In girls' action, Central held Barton to just two first half points on the way to a 24-10 victory. Barton was held scoreless until just before halftime and the Lady Cats went into the intermission with a 15-2 lead.  Barton would cut it to 15-8 in the third, but that is as close as they would get.  Helena-West Helena was led by Khadijah Allen with 10 points.  Alana Gonner led the Lady Bears with 4.
