Bagley Selected for Election Night Coverage on Central Arkansas's KEWI-AM 690

Andrew Bagley
Helena-West Helena's own Andrew Bagley, a political science instructor at Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas, contributor to the Inside Scoop Online, and Voice of the Helena-West Helena Central Cougars on KCLT-FM 104.9, will join the election night coverage team of KEWI-AM 690 in Central Arkansas Tuesday night.

Grant Merrill, owner of KEWI-AM, selected Bagley to join Jim Harris, spokesman for former Governor Mike Huckabee, and Jason Tolbert of the Tolbert Report, which is published by TalkBusiness.net.  The Tolbert Report is one of the state's premier political blogs.

Bagley was honored to be given this opportunity.  He said, "To be able to share the studio with some of Arkansas's most astute political obeservers is a privilige, and I look forward to it.  I am sure that we will have some insightful discussions as we discuss the results from our legislative elections, along with the returns nationally.  It is a potentially historic night in Arkansas politics.  Two significant questions will be answered.  Will Republicans take control of the state legislature for the first time in 138 years or  will Democrats hold on to power and be able to elect the first African-American House Speaker in January?"

Bagley holds a Master of Arts Degree in Political Science from Baylor University in Waco, Texas.  He also holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and History from Ouachita Baptist University.  Previously, Bagley was the Associate Editor of the Phillips County Progress, served as co-host of the Inside Scoop Talk Show on KJIW-FM 94.5, and has done some work for the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette as a stringer for the Sports Department.  Bagley also served six years on the Phillips County Quorum Court, as an intern in the Arkansas Governor's Office during the Huckabee Administration, and is a previous member of the State Committee of the Arkansas Democratic Party from Phillips County.

Coverage of the election results will begin at 7:30 pm.  Listeners in eastern Arkansas can hear Bagley live online at www.saline247.com.  Click the Listen Live link on the page.
