Former HWHPD Captain Marc McGee Passes Away

Helena-West Helena, AR --- We are saddened to learn that former Helena West Helena Police Department Captain Marc McGee has passed away. The scoop learned of his passing late yesterday afternoon. According to reports, he passed around 5:00 p.m. 

Captain McGee worked for a number of years for the City of Helena Police Department. He worked his way through the ranks from Patrol to Sergeant to Lieutenant and finally to Captain. Mr. McGee was one of five captains when the city consolidated in 2006. He, Captain Johnny Davis, Captain David Lovell, Captain Carl Vann and Captain Gordon Baldwin were the captains who led the department through the consolidation transition under the leadership of Chief Vincent Bell and Assistant Chief T. L. Green. As of today, Captain Vann is the only of those still employed with the city. The others have retired. Some of them are working in other capacities now. Captain McGee reportedly retired a year or so ago.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
