According to several Twitter postings confirmed by unnamed employees of the Helena-West Helena School District, James Downey, an oral communications/ social studies teacher at Helena-West Helena Central High School, passed away suddenly today.
No details regarding what happened or funeral arrangments are available at this time. We extend our prayers to the Downey family and to his students and coworkers at Central High School during this difficult time.
