Attorney Charles Allen Has Passed Away

UPDATE: 10:30 p.m. Arkansas State Police Report Issued

HELENA-WEST HELENA --- Reports of Mr. Charles Allen's passing are coming in far and wide. We have been able to confirm, however, that Mr. Allen has passed away. Reportedly, Mr. Allen was traveling east on Highway 44 near the intersection of Highway 242. This intersection is south of the West Helena Industrial Park which is home to BPS, Alumax, Norac and other companies.

The cause of death has not been announced. According to reports, Mr. Allen's vehicle appears to have been involved in a low impact single vehicle accident. This accident occurred during the early evening hours tonight.

UPDATE: 10:30 p.m. The Arkansas State Police are reporting that Charles P. Allen, born June 6, 1947, is the 5th fatality accident victim on Arkansas Highways during 2012. The report puts the time of the accident at 6:00 p.m. and states that Mr. Allen was driving a 2011 GMC Pick-up. The State Police Report says that Allen "lost control while attempting to turn northbound onto HWY 242 and struck a guardrail."

Mr. Allen's family has been notified.
