Marsett Stevenson Loses Bid to Get Job Back

Minister Marsett Stevenson, Employee of the Helena Municipal Water and Sewer Department of the City of Helena-West Helena, Arkansas, appeared before the city council tonight requesting that he be reinstated to his old job. Minister Stevenson, Mayor Arnell Willis and Mr. Terry McGinister, Manager of East Side Water Department, each provided testimony to the city council.

At the end, there was a vote on a motion to reinstate Minister Stevenson. He needed six or seven affirmative votes in order to be reinstated. However, he received only two affirmative votes with the others being negative or abstentions.
