Cougars To Take on Blytheville Chickasaws this Week

Coming off last week's 48-14 victory to open the season against the Marianna Trojans, the Helena-West Helena Central High School Cougars will face their first road test this Friday when they head north to take on the Blytheville Chickasaws in nonconference play.

Blytheville is 1-1 with a victory over Osceola and a 28-14 loss to the West Memphis Blue Devils last week.  The Chickasaws invaded Cad Polk Stadium last season and left with a 38-0 victory over the Cougars.  The Cougars will be seeking revenge for that shutout when they enter Haley Field in Blytheville this week.

The Chickasaws are favorites to win according to Hootens.com.  The long-time high school football writers in Arkansas have Blytheville as a six-point favorite.  Hootens.com also has the Chickasaws ranked 18th out of 32 5A teams.  They have the Cougars ranked 26th.

Kickoff is set for 7 p. m.  Those that can't make the trip can listen to the action on KJIW-FM 94.5 and on www.kjiwfm.com.
